Cinco De Mayo

So every Year when Cinco De Mayo is here I always miss because I have to work, But this year I also have to work. "what else is new." but that's OK maybe next year I can go out and Celebrate it with friend and family. Mexican food is my favorite. I don't drink, but I do love going to events and being around people. I think next year I'm just going to have to take off work.

God is Good All The Time

Recently I have been searching for a new job. I haven't had much luck and I've been asking the good Lord to take care of me. I Don't agree with the issues that are going on at my current job so that is why I am looking for a new job. I found my self just praying about me and my job situation and I had to stop and realize that it may not be the best job for me, but I should be thankful that I have a job because I could not have a job at all. I know there are a lot of people out there that don't have a job at all. So I have been telling God that I am thankful for what I do have rather than complaining about what I do not have. I feel so blessed. I know God is going to take care of me because God loves each and everyone of us.

All About the Bible

I had this conversation with one of my younger cousins a couple of days ago. She wanted me to watch this movie call the "Secret." We started watching and it was about how to get every thing you what in life. I told her If you strive for something and you put your all into it and ask the lord to help you through it, the Lord will be right by your side. She said she didn't believe in the bible, but she believed in a higher power. I told her I was sad for her and that I'll pray for her and that if she doesn't want to believe that was her choice. She was a little up set it seemed like because she wanted me to be open minded to her opinions. Which I was but I told her I have faith in god and I listened to her opinions but I will never agree. I all ways say let people believe in what they want and when there ready God will be there.

Easters Here Yeah!!!

So i am so excited about Easter this year. usually my grandmother will cook a big Easter dinner and have all the family over to eat. we all get up early to go to church, which is wonderful. the church I go to is Faith and Family and every Easter Sunday that I have attended there is always a Easter performance. unfortunately I will be missing this Easter Sunday because Six Flags is having a Easter hunt extravaganza. so I am taking my daughter, but hopefully my aunt will tape the performance at church so me and my daughter can watch it while where eating Easter dinner.

The Two Books that has Influenced Me

    A Book titled "The Holy Bible" and "Seeing and Writing" has made a big influenced on me as well. It also put these in my top five favorite post. I love The Holy Bible because as I read the Scriptures and the massage it gives me it allows me to grow closer to Jesus Christ. Awhile back I had experience some passing away of family that meant a lot to me. I started to run from God. Now that I have been running toward him I feel so full of life and the emptiness I felt has disappeared. I love and enjoy my life. I thank Jesus every day for this gift.

    I like the book "Seeing and Writing" a lot because it really made me think about how society views one another and it allows you to expand your mind to be more open minded to issues that are present in our world today. I am not much of a reader, but I read this Book and i was very glad i did. I was first introduced to this book last semester. while I attended here at SWIC. I was taking English 101 and my instructor assigned this book for the class. After we would read each chapter we would have to write a paper about are feelings and thoughts on the subject. I love to free write so this was great to get to express my views and opinions on the different topics in the chapters that we read. I was going to put this book on amazon and sell it to someone who might need it for there class, but it's such a good book I decided to just keep it.   

Sounds Like Fun!!!

I Just got tickets to Alive Magazines fashion show called "Glow." I'm so excited about the show. me and my best friend are attending and I can't wait. I have never been to a runway fashion show so it sounds like fun. my friend mentioned she wanted to go to the after party, but I probably won't go. I don't mean to sound like a party pooper, but I'm not much into party's. I guess I'll see how it goes.

B-Day Wishes

Well this weekend is my daughters B-Day and she is turning seven years old. I can't believe she growing up so fast. I enjoy memories like this. She's been dieing to get a hamster Ahhh! I had a hamster when I was a kid and there so cute, but with my busy schedule I don't know if we will have time for our new pet. I say our new pet, cause I know I'll be the main one changing the cage. I guess we'll try it out and please wish us and our new pet good luck!

My Top Five most wonderful things I have experienced are the following:

Number One: "The Bible Experience," is a audio CD of the Holy Bible. It's nice to be able  to listen to the CD's while I follow along in my bible. Also it has some of my favorite actors, actress, and gospel musicians that preform in this. 

Number Two: Mexican food, all kinds. taco's, nachos, a good place to eat at would be "Rosalinta's Cantana" in downtown St. Louis. The food is so delicious. Since I work in walking distance from their  I'm able to eat their on my lunch break. 

Number Three: The book titled " Seeing and Writing" By: Donald McQuade and Christine McQuade. I had to read this book for my last English class and I absolutely  loved it. This is a book that really makes you think about things that go on in the world and express  your own opinion on certain topics.

Number Four:  Faith and Family Church. I had been going to this church for about a year in a half and its awesome. I love the people there and the pastor and his wife are so lively, it really puts you in the spirit to give God praise. Every Sunday me and my daughter go, will most Sunday sometime we miss a Sunday every now in than.

Number Five: "Apocalypto" a movie Directed by, Mel Gibson. This is such a strong powerful movie. It's about the Mesoamerican Tribesman who must escape being enslaved and sacrificed. I was amazed to see how they brought this movie to life. if anyone hasn't seen this I recommended it.

 

Make more Bible Movies

I just finished watching  a bible movie called "One Night with the King." It is one of the book's in the Bible the book of  Esther. I enjoyed watching the movie and afterward I was thinking why hasn't anyone made any other Bible movies to come out on the big screen? I only can remember one big bible movie that came out and that was " The Passion of the Christ." their hasn't been any others since then. I hope some director come's out with one soon. The books in the bible have such strong meaning's. They would be a joy to watch as much as they are a joy to read.

I just love this quote. it makes me really think how we let others get to us. we may go on and on about how someone has provoke us and have so much rage against them. we tend to express our emotion's by holding on to situations in deep thought. some time it seem we are unable to let things go. so it just build up inside and where unable to let are minds and sprite just forgive. forgiveness is never an easy thing to do, especially if you have been hurt in the most terrible way. but if we walk around with hatred it doesn't make us feel any better. to me it feels like a flower without water. the flower starts to loss it's color,it's petals and it just deteriorates, but until it can  receive water. it will never grow. I know some time it is hard to allow ourselves to let go but to me the hardest thing is holding on. I realize that if we don't learn to forgive each other we are really just deteriorating ourselves. for me life is to short to have hate for some one, and I want to have nothing but love in my soul.

I recently was talking to a friend of mine and she went on telling me about a situation that occurred, with a friend of hers. she began just talking about what her friend was doing in her life and how she was a terrible person because what she had done, but her friend was no longer acting in that way. I notice that she was judging her on her past. which is normal for most of us to judge one another on their past.I know, I have done this before. But, in the bible Jesus mentions, "For those who have never sin, cast the first stone." this is an awesome scripture to always think about when we find are self  judging. WWJD

I Am

I am from Tim, Helen, Mac, and Angie but birthed from Daphnie I am from sand, sun, and ocean life, the state of Florida, but was not there for long, but from all four seasons the state of Illinois. I am from "eat all your food on your plate," "did you do all your choirs," and "don't ask why, just do." I am from sinning, outspoken, laughing, understanding, open-minded. and a mother of one. I am a christian and I walk with Jesus. That is who I am.       

While the snow and ice fell

So I love movies and since I had a lot of time on my hands these past two days I rented a movie called The Gospel of John which  is similar to The Passion of Christ for those who saw the movie. the Gospel of John is more detailed and is word for word to what the bible said on the coming of Jesus Christ. I thought this was a great movie to experience. Me and my daughter watched it together. I have been away from following god for awhile and my aunt recently invited me to her church "Faith and Family." since I have started going back to church a big weight has been lifted off me and I am blessed to be following Jesus Christ again.

FOCUS YOUR LOVE TOWARD GOD!

So Valentines Day is coming up. A Day filled with LOVE, but have you ever been so nice to someone, whether it was your sister, mother, father, brother, cousin, boyfriend, girlfriend,or best friend in the whole world. Then to have this person that you showed all your love too, and they say they love you too, but then they end up letting you down. Well I heard someone once say "You have not felt true love until you have received the love of GOD, he is an everlasting love, and he will never let you down." See when you receive the love of GOD, that is the true day you will be filled with love, the love of Jesus Christ. So have you felt true love?
